The Mind of Moai & ”The Long Lost Data Disk” -update is in the works!

 Greetings everyone!

It’s time for my very first devlog post, which I start with a puzzle game with Moai statues!

The Mind of Moai is a tile matching puzzle game with weight mechanics that change the game area based on your actions. Some of you may remember this game from #dosgamesJam, which was the main inspiration for the game’s visual look. After it’s release, the game gained enough attention, with a help from few game curators and front page’s ”Fresh games” -section. Because of that, it’s time for update!
Here’s a list of things that will be added in the game:

Previously cut content, including:

  • Special tiles with gameplay affecting effects
  • Few ingame tunes to listen (probably trying to emulate sound quality from Adlib or Tandy)

Visual updates:

  • 7 new CGA graphic palettes (images related)
  •  Tiles more distinguishable from each other (for CGA graphics)

Tweaking mechanics:

  • Updating game modes
  • Fixing the combo system
  • Adding a ”drag” feature, an alternative for rotating tiles.
  • Cleaning and tweaking the games code (for TIC-80 users, maybe for Gitlab too...)

And possibly something more…!

You can find and play the current version on my profile page.
I’m also interested to read your opinions and suggestions, so please let me know in the comment section (yes, this isn’t Youtube).
Stay tuned for more updates!
